You should be able to do V8 without chroot as well I think.
I simply installed the option on IBMi and started using it.

lol... that happens so much! But, the problem in this case was a big in IBM's stuff I believe.
Instead of risking copying my V7R3 node6 stuff to their system, Im trying to get node8 set up on my machine with chroot so I can do it on theirs.. of course, that's going even deeper down the rabbit hole and has it's own issues.
