Just curious what creates these directories in the /tmp folder and if it's
safe to remove them.

They are directories named /npm-xxx-xxxxx

Where xxx-xxxx is something like 2446-50ed12kd2

The subdirectory is registry.npmjs.org and below that quite a few other
directories (array-flatten, bytes, clean-css, cookie, etc..)

They must be created when a new nodeJs project is created.. but should they
be cleaned up, are they required to stay in /tmp or can I just remove
them. They are a little over 500KB in size.

I also see some other directories named /db2jtmp_xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.
These are empty and I'm not sure what creates these either... not sure if
it's related.

Thanks!
