OK thanks all - a little progress. I was now able to install ibm_db from npm.

However, node-gyp rebuild still fails for things like "hiredis". With that gmake fails:

gmake: *** virtual memory exhausted. Stop.

The ibmichroot project actually ~is~ 5733OPS option 3 (aka "GCC") and the Issue I just created will ~eventually~ show up in that option.

Opinion: 5733OPS option 3 is more easily obtained/upgraded through the Bitbucket repo via git clone. I git clone it into /QOpenSys/ibmichroot.
That way it doesn't conflict with anything IBM is doing in /QOpenSys/QIBM/ProdData/OPS.

need to install libstdc++-devel rpm from Perzl to get it.

When hug-an-IBMer day comes around again, you better be ready for some

I've also documented an Issue so we can get this added to the base

#include <algorithm> is a C++ header file (note, it's
extensionless, not algorithm.h). It should be a part of the
libstdc++ part of the GCC
source
code, but it could be that the file is built during the compile.

It should be found under /

believe you
