Not sure what the problem is as I have a base install and I have the option
to open a git perspective just from the initial workspace screen?
Can you get to Ryver as this interface does not support pictures to be
inserted (its plain text)

I'm on 9.5. I followed the URL directions, created a new connection to the
i, then click window/open perspective/other and I don't see GIT there.

Take a look at Relic Package Manager as well, its going to make it
easier for people to download and install your product as source. Git
is pretty easy once you get the basics underway, even with IBM I you
can install the Git Client in PASE and use it via commands to manage
your repository on GitHub.

What version of RDi are you using? I did not install anything special
on my system? You are starting off with IBM i Projects?

Subject: [IBMiOSS] Starting a new open source project

I emailed Aaron for tips on how to start a project. I want to submit
my EDI translator that I wrote as Open Source.

I am following this URL recommended by Aaron,

http://www.shieldadvanced.com/Blog/ibm-i/getting-ready-for-open-source
-devel
opment/,
but I don't have GIT as a perspective.

I'm off to google but thought I'd post here too.

Thanks,

Art
