Have you looked into getting a second set of used machines and storing your
data on them?

Subject: Data vaulting

All,

I decided to look into data vaulting. I got a quote just to see what the
costs would be.

System i data: 84gb, 14 dailys, 4 weeklys and 13 monthlys = $258/mo.
Windows servers data: 900gb, 14 dailys and 4 weeklys = $2,100/mo.

This was so far beyond what I thought the costs would be that I am
absolutely stunned. When I asked how companies justified it, the reply I
got was savings on buying blank tapes. I could restock my entire supply of
tapes every week and spend less.
