We purchase used systems and are an IBM reseller. The base operating
system is transferable to another buyer. If your system is above 5.2 the
application software is only transferable within the same enterprise. If the
system is licensed at 4.4 to 5.2 and you have all the original documentation
your application software has value (assuming it was not transferred to a
new box you purchased). Your hardware has no resell value in the current
market. I hope this information is helpful.
