And on that note I sent a note to a colleague who does PC forensics as a
side gig for the CPD. No response yet; I'll let you know what he says.

David;

I would recommend giving Chicago, or your local PD, a call and see who (if)
they farm out their computer forensics.

Subject: Looking for a computer forensics specialist

Folks:

An acquaintance of mine is looking for someone to inspect some PC hard
drives (of various formats) for potential illegal content.

They contacted me to see if I might be interested but, after they described
the situation, I quickly came to the conclusion that I'm not the right
person for the job.

Can anyone recommend a consultant (Chicago area preferred) who specializes
on this kind of thing?

Thanks!

david
