I've personally heard a couple of negative rumors that are in effect
baseless. So baseless I'm not repeating them - they have no foundation.
They would be about as accurate as making sure I used the middle name of
a certain politician to allow people to draw some egregious conclusions.
My guess is that over the next few weeks there are going to be some
things announced that might not be received well. But I don't think any
truly revolve around the future of the platforms technology. Based on
what I know right now I see a very good future with the basic
technology. I have areas of concern but they are not with technology
and the future of i5/OS. Well, I have some but they are minor I
believe. It's not a perfect technology nor is it a perfect OS.
I won't doubt the FUD spreaders of the world won't have some opportunity
but my advice is to ignore them. I would also advise to not question
the strength of the platforms but to push IBM on what actions it is
going to take in certain areas - and to be honest most of them should be
marketing. That's what will impact the future of the technology. IMHO.
