Tom,

What offense? :-)

IMnsHO, midrange-L is for midrange information exchange. It is the general
catch-all where RPG-L, WDSc-L, etc.. do not fit.

Conference+education is an important part of the community. I think
midrange-L is a great place for it, but of course, I am not David.

However, I think you are looking for midrange-tech-L. Maybe that would be
more focused?

Why are you suggesting taking a thread about System i conferences to
non-tech?

Thank you for asking.

Why? Because a discussion about the success, failure, attendance
levels and other elements that have no technical relevance to System
i is a 'non-tech' discussion by definition. Had the discussion been
about elements of the content of sessions, it could easily be 'tech'.

In addition, I'd like Midrange-NonTech to be a living forum. There
are plenty of aspects surrounding System i that go beyond technical.
Many of them deserve much more attention than they get. By directing
discussion to NonTech, that forum can become valuable as a forum. It
also would increase the value of its archives.

Meanwhile, Midrange-L becomes better focused. Its value increases in
the same ways.

Please be aware that I selected your post because you seem less
liable to take offense and more likely to consider it seriously. It
wasn't personal.

Please send any Reply to NonTech.
