I think your needs would probably be met when the google search is
implemented (at least I don't think there is a better search algorithm out
there, though I don't think they do special characters well all the time).

How 'bout a way to be able to search *with* special characters?  Recently, I
was trying to search on %BIN, the CL function, but the search function
provided by ht://Dig apparently strips out special characters.  (BTW, is
ht://Dig no longer being maintained?  The website is still there, but the
last update was June 2004.  I know their releases appear to be fairly spread
out, but 20 months seems to be more than a hiatus.)

And how 'bout phrase searches?
