LOL - that would certainly do it ! We are a pretty small company so... The ADP Time clocks are leased by the year. So "we" decided PC's would be better... I am still not convinced. I just saw a demo of the application and it is a great app and all, but the basic "clock in/clock out" via the browser is just not as fast as sticking a card in something and I am afraid that is going to cause a "jam" at our bigger branches... If the device is not available, users can also enter their time at a workstation. Basically they enter their employee number - the program figures out whether it's a punch in or out, lunch, break, etc. The downside of terminal entry is the possibility of buddy punching - same problem as with time cards. That's why the biometric device is nice - you have to chop someone's hand off to buddy punch for them. > -------- Original Message -------- > Subject: Re: ADP via a Browser > From: "Alan C" <steelville@xxxxxxxxxxx> > Date: Fri, March 11, 2005 7:44 am > To: "Non-Technical Discussion about the AS400 / iSeries" > <midrange-nontech@xxxxxxxxxxxx> > > Hi Chuck > > The employees log their time at a thin client device designated for it. > I'll try to get the particulars if I have time today (emergency project > today) or else early next week. > > Alan > > > Chuck Lewis wrote: > > >Alan, > > > >Had no idea.
