Janet Krueger just wrote (in News Wire): "Why doesn't IBM step up to the plate with RPG IV and CL compilers that target Windows and Unix? What is stopping them from providing a level of OS/400 compatibility across the eServer line? Is IBM missing an opportunity, or simply using its monopoly on the base iSeries tools and compilers as a way to keep iSeries shops locked into higher priced machines and peripherals?" Janet, I think to latter would be more in line with IBM's traditional way of doing things. Sadly enough.
