<Chuck, Yes, it sounds like it used internal batteries, and not the UPS.>

Thanks Neil, that's what I was afraid of. Last job we had a HUGE UPS and we
would takes hits from
time to time and I never remembered any messages being worded the way these
were but wasn't sure
if that was because of the change in OS releases...

<Is the serial signal cable connected from the UPS to the port (J14 ?) on the
400 ?>

Nope - this was installed before I got here and there is NO cable in that
port...

<Is the UPS still good ? When was the last time you tested the batteries to
see if they could
support the load ?>

All it's "stuff" shows it is OK. It is due for a PM 1st of the new year (talked
with the tech
yesterday).

<Maybe the UPS failed and the internal batteries saved you. Maybe it was a
small voltage or
frequency fluctuation that was not outside the limits the UPS was set for, but
within the limits
the system itself uses to switch to internal batteries.>

Makes you wonder doesn't it ? How does all this factor in if there is NOT a
signal cable to the
UPS ?

Thanks,

Chuck
