I have to agree with Norm. Australia has committed troops and/or naval forces on many occasions to support the US, usually without any public debate (let alone even parliamentary debate), and usually before we were even asked to. Token forces perhaps, but we still put lives at risk. Not to mention Bush's standoff with China a few months ago over Taiwan. Our government fell over itself to support the US position even at the expense of damaging our reputation with pretty much all of Asia.
