Saw the memorial service at St. Paul's on CSpan this morning - it was live so very early in the morning here. Great that so many in the UK are taking this as seriously as those of us in these United States. I noticed that the memorial service also started with Star Spangled Banner. Commentator mentioned that it was the first time that tune had ever been sung in that church. But one very minor . . . well, our company has facilities in Ireland (I realize its not part of the UK but its close) and they are closed because of a day of mourning over the tragedy here - and yet we here in these United States are working . . . does something seem funny about this picture or is it just me. Flags on public buildings are at half mast. Between four and five hundred Britons are thought to be among the missing at the WTC. For the first time in its history NATO has invoked a clause in its charter, declaring that an attack on any single member nation of the alliance is an attack on all. Many Americans in the crowd outside Buckingham Palace were visibly moved yesterday when the band of the Coldstream Guards played the Star Spangled Banner in an unprecedented alteration to the changing of the guard ceremony personally ordered by the queen. During the ensuing two minute silence the Duke of York, representing his mother, stood shoulder to shoulder with the US ambassador, William Farish. Her Majesty later returned from Balmoral to be able to attend a special memorial service today. _______________________________________________ This is the Non-Technical Discussion about the AS400 / iSeries (Midrange-NonTech) mailing list To post a message email: Midrange-NonTech@midrange.com To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, visit: http://lists.midrange.com/cgi-bin/listinfo/midrange-nontech or email: Midrange-NonTech-request@midrange.com Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives at http://archive.midrange.com/midrange-nontech.
