ASMI/BMC/whatever. All I know is that I go to the right address, with
https, and I get the ASMI screen. From there I can power off the system.

So now your question is "How do I check/set my ASMI port on a Power 10
without an HMC?".
I googled that without the double quotes and without the question mark and
the AI overview is pretty good. Gives explanation for checking it with a
hardwired laptop, and, for checking it from the control panel.

Yes, this is a LAN console system.

CMN03 is the LAN console port at 192.168.15.4.

How would the HMC port be configured to a 192.168.15.x port for ASMI?

On second thought, I'm not having any issues accessing ASMI by name

of IP address. I was doing something wrong earlier.
Having been through a few system migrations where the old ASMI IP address
never got on the new machine it's easier if you just use DNS and point
the
right name to the current server.

If Lan Console point a browser to the HMC port and you should hit
Advanced
System Management Interface (ASMI). I found it works better by IP
address,
with https, likehttps://10.10.x.y.

That takes a special user id and password.

Now, there are those who only open their HMC/ASMI port to a dedicated
subnet with no physical access outside of the room. I find this
ludicrous. I mean, it's ok for your whole network to have access to HR,
medical, payroll, proprietary engineering information, nuclear launch
codes, etc but it's curtains for the free world if they can get to your
HMC
port where it has ZERO access to your confidential data?

No problem doing a PWRDWNSYS *IMMED to power off a system.

How about the next level to completely power off a system.

We don't want to unplug the the system.

Front panel?
