Short column name in CREATE TABLE AS ?

Given this sample SQL, how can I set the short, system column name for the
new column  COUNTER_VALUE ?

create table NEW_TABLE as (
  select COL_ABC,
    cast(0 as decimal(3)) as COUNTER_VALUE
    from EXISTING_TABLE
) with no data ;
