IBM i Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) support for OAuth 2.0
OAuth (Open Authorization) is an open-standard protocol that uses access
tokens rather than credentials like username and password. The access token
grants scoped and time-limited permissions to access user data on another
service.

Many providers currently or will require OAuth tokens instead of passwords.

IBM i SMTP will support OAuth 2.0 by 19 June 2026 for IBM i 7.4 and later.

Implements as Service Account with domain-wide delegation
Supports Gmail (Google Workspace) and Office 365 (Microsoft 365) providers
Configuration through Change SMTP Attributes (CHGSMTPA) and Navigator for i
Sending email is the same after initial configuration
