Looks like a new sftputil package was released in early March 2026 as well. I need to check that one out.

I recommend sftpretty, which is much better documented and feels more fleshed out than sftputil. It clearly attempts to be for SFTP what ftpretty was for FTP. Which is a good thing. (I was somewhat disappointed that sftputil was nothing like ftputil, which is a very solid and full-featured package).
