Different ways to achieve a common result: modern and functional-snip-
applications.
I can say that IBM has done its part very well:
- A solid, modern and feature-rich operating system
- IWS makes the web side available without having to know anything about
Java or application servers
- The RPG compiler is incredibly solid and reliable
- Node.JS and many open-source products allow us to avoid having to
reinvent the wheel every couple of days
- The integrated database completes the circle
So what more could we ask from IBM?
From my point of view, not much, perhaps a slightly more evident guarantee
that they will continue to invest in IWS and RPG?
And let them finally bury the 5250. (I guess this sentence will open the
duck shooting season)
Best regards
