Hi Greg (somehow I missed this yesterday...)

My GraphQL experience was using it with a Java servlet but it wasn't in an IBM i environment.  The queries were small, less than 25 lines, so I just saved them in the code itself.  But storing it in the IFS would work.  You'd have to retrieve and verify it but it's ultimately just text so the IFS would work.

Pete,

Thanks... I tried that a bit. Postman and their Postman collection works pretty good. The hardest/dumbest thing about it is knowing what fields are available at what levels. The online documentation leaves a lot to be desired.

If you don't mind me asking... how did you "store" or "build" the queries? I'm thinking of storing them on the IFS, reading them into RPG, then adding the GraphQL variables to what I read off the IFS.

Thoughts?

Thanks again!
Greg

Subject: Re: Marketplacer API (GraphQL)

Greg,

I'll agree that graphQL is pretty challenging to sort out. I use the
Chrome plugin Alair GraphQL Client which was helpful in testing and
linting. Maybe you already found a useful tool to test your queries
with, but the Altair plugin is my go to tool and seems to work well.

Hoping someone else has encountered this platform... one of our customers is moving from a REST-based API (Mirakl) to this GraphQL based API (Marketplacer).

I have worked with SOAP and REST APIs in the past, but have zero experience with GraphQL. I'm having a hard time following the documentation and Postman examples.

Greg
