At V7R4, IBM introduced an FTP server environment variable that allows
admin to restrict the range of ports used. For example, the
environment variable can be used to restrict FTP sessions to ports
5001-5005 with ADDENVVAR ENVVAR(QIBM_FTP_PORT_RANGE) VALUE('5001-5005')
LEVEL(*SYS). In this example, only 5 ports are available for FTP which
means you are limited to 5 concurrent FTP sessions.
Is anyone using this environment variable? Is there any impact to your
operation? Any specific issues that you saw? Any tips or caveats?
