maybe a wild goose chase
is the data in the file the same as the file itself?
i recall using DSPF and seeing a message at the bottom of the screen indicating a difference in CCSIDs.

I have a customer who has a share set up in Navigator for i on a file in a
library.

File CCSID is 37. It's a plain text file.

Until today (what is claimed, I never witnessed it) when dragging the file
over from the IFS using explorer and the share it would convert fine. But
today it started doing it with garbage (well, not converting that I can
see).

I tried setting up a new share and replicated the problem.

The conversion is set up in IBM Navigator for i and the "simple conversion"
is checked with a wildcard "*" in the extension box.

Any ideas?
