Looking at migrating data from one storage array to another, each
being used by a different IBMi host.

The two storage arrays are connected via fibre channel to the same switch
so speed is not an issue being 16Gbs.

Our supplier has advised me we need to shutdown the source LPAR to ensure a
clean copy, using say Copy Services Manager.

Thay have tried with the source LPAR staying up and tell me the resultant
copy is not able to be IPL'd. One error is cannot find load source. Their
view is the copy is dirty since there could have been updates in memory
that had bttn flushed yet.

I would prefer not to shutdown the LPAR and after some research came up
with this option

Looks good to me as it means our production outage time would be quite
small, certainly less than shutting down the LPAR and bringing it up again.

But I am not an IBMi practitioner and so I am seeking advice the group.
