Customer has an old V5R4 AS400 with a twinax console - W1.
W1 dumb terminal died and their software has some work files ending in
?WS? hard coded to W1.
We provisioned a PC with a 5250 emulation (TN5250e) session named W1 and
that works fine (for now).
After they signoff the W1 virtual session goes back to "VARIED ON" as
expected.
However when they later restart the emulated 5250 session it hangs
waiting for the session to be "allocated".
Workaround is to vary off and delete W1 virtual device and restart the
5250 emulated W1 session.
Voila! It works.
How can we avoid this workaround?
