EXACTLY
for 38 years I have developed graphic quality Green Screens and now IBM
forces us to use a Graphical WEB Interface
I wonder when IBM became interested in our opinion, for 37 years they
forgot about us, launched the AS400 and never
brought it closer to the new generations of computer scientists, the AS400
and its subsequent generations grew THANKS
TO the SOFTWARE we developed, now IBM decides how we should do our work,
they were about to go bankrupt in 1993 and
today they take us to the CLOUD, IBM built an excellent machine in 1988
(AS400), but we were the ones who kept it
alive and its successive denials.
I have used green screens in all the systems I have developed using RPG36,
RPG400, RPGile and the new versions RPG,
RPG FREE FORMAT and FULL FREE, without any problem.
The decision to DISCONTINUE tools that are essential to our work shows that
IBM has a very different idea of what
COMMERCIAL SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT is. It may be in the computer building
business, but it still has the mentality
of a typewriter and spreadsheet machine builder.
