An IPL isn't required. You can just restart the server. In Navigator for i, it's under 'Network" and 'IBM Host Servers'. On the green screen you can use the commands:
ENDHOSTSVR SERVER(*SIGNON)
and
STRHOSTSVR SERVER(*SIGNON)

Is that a requirement? I thought they took affect when registered. I didn't
