In my CLLE program, I use the following command:
VRYCFG     CFGOBJ(&F1_ODOBNM) CFGTYPE(*CTL) STATUS(*OFF)
Occasionally, one of the controllers will fail to vary off due to
CPA2611 (Sender copy).  This message is not monitor-able.  It requires a
reply, either 'C' or 'G'.  I set up the system reply list to reply with
'C'.  That is working.  But now I want to capture the error in the
program to do other things based on that message.  FWIW, after the reply
is sent, another message appears in the job log, CPD27EE (Diagnostic),
which is the same message as CPA2611.
I've tried:
1) RCVMSG     MSGDTA(&MSGDTA) MSGDTALEN(&MSGDTALEN) MSGID(&MSGID)
2) RCVMSG     PGMQ(*PRV) MSGDTA(&MSGDTA) MSGDTALEN(&MSGDTALEN)
MSGID(&MSGID)
followed by
If         (     &MsgID = 'CPA2611' +
            *or &MsgID = 'CPD27EE')  Then( Do )
 ChgVar     &VryOffErr '1'
 ChgVar     &WrkCfgSts '*YES'
Enddo
... but this never triggers.
It's been a very long time since I last worked with program message
queues.  I have a vague recollection that the program may need to
receive multiple messages from the queue to find the one I'm looking
for.  But, before I went down the rabbit hole, I wanted to ask this fine
body of exceptional professional developers.
