Group profiles are also a very good way to keep objects from disappearing if somebody deletes a user profile: if a user profile is deleted, there is an OWNOBJOPT parameter: *NODLT causes the command to fail if the user owns objects, *DLT allows the user profile to be deleted, taking all objects owned by the user (including IFS objects) with it, and *CHGOWN changes the owner to a specified user profile.

It is all too common for people to do OWNOBJOPT(*DLT) without thinking it through first. Don't ask me how I know that.
