Couple of items to note:

Bryan, that's an oldie but a goodie. I forgot about " CALL QLZARCAPI". That is a part of
The QMGTOOLS SYSSNAP too.

As for COMMON, I wish I was able to go. I probably could if I really pushed it.
I'd love to meet the people that have help me with material for the IBM i Reference Pages Blog.
https://ibmireference.blogspot.com/
I'd love to meet in person the people that promote it and also have it attached to their websites.
Even IBM included it on the IBM i Resources Roadmap. https://developer.ibm.com/articles/ibm-i-resources-roadmap/

I would just say / ask that the blog be mentioned in your travels around Common. I get nothing for it other than
The satisfaction that it has helped IBM i nation.

Due to acquisitions, I'm kind of required to be available 24x7. People have been shuffled around including me to support
what is occurring internally. I'm more or less on the IBM i system admin island in a huge installation. And eventually
I'll be potentially moving, so I'm told, to an MS Azure / Nutanix role. I'm studying those things on a daily basis as
time permits.

The IBM i will be around but probably more for a historical data reference as opposed to production. It'll be interesting
To see how it shakes out for the firm and for me as well.

subject: My first trip to a COMMON conference

After decades on the IBM midrange platform, I'm finally blessed with an employer who values education and backs it up. So, as a first-timer, I have questions.

The schedule shows "Lunch in Expo" on Tuesday and Wednesday. But only "breaks" around noon on Monday and Thursday. Do the evening events provide food? If there are any lunch or dinner meals not provided by the conference, what are the options within walking distance? (I'm using Uber to/from the John Wayne airport/Disneyland Hotel, so no rental car.)

I presume the BOF sessions are formed onsite? Does midrange.com usually have one?

Anyone else here know (yet) that they're going?

in addition to the service, this one will return similar info

CALL QLZARCAPI

<my take>
if they are existing vendors they should have a utility in their software to return the info "they" need to create keys or for similar requests.

if they are new vendors they should know more than "check the HMC"
and provide you with a simple(version specific) way to get the info they need to (over)charge for the software :-) </my take>

Bryan (et al) -

Is there an SQL Service that will return "partition number"?

We often have vendors that need the partition number and the only place
that I know to get it is from the HMC.

Thanks,

Hooray!

Dan, the vendors typically put out the feedbag ? Monday night, Tuesday lunch, Tuesday night, Wednesday lunch.

Disney has several restaurants, expensive and not super great. Breakfast is "pretty good" at one of them.

After one try in the Disney village for dinner (Fried chicken served at room temperature ?) I've gone offsite for meals. There's nothing terribly close, but the weather's usually pretty good and I've walked 3 mi. each way for a good meal.

People form groups and ride together.

I'll be in the same boat with you, so maybe we can find something together!

I presume the BOF sessions are formed onsite? Does midrange.com usually have one?

Yeah, and COMMON, etc.

Anyone else here know (yet) that they're going?

See ya there!
