The internal search function is temporarily non-functional. The current search engine is no longer viable and we are researching alternatives.
As a stop gap measure, we are using Google's custom search engine service.
If you know of an easy to use, open source, search engine ... please contact support@midrange.com.
A network probe most likely.
Easiest thing might be to regularly ping it with an HTTP request and look for an expected response.

subject: Detecting an unresponsive Tomcat server on a Midrange box.
Any ideas?
We have this one case, out of all the Midrange Tomcat installations we manage, in which the server becomes unresponsive, sometimes every other month, sometimes every other week, sometimes every other day, and in any event requiring a forced shutdown and a restart.
And somebody suggested that if we could detect the problem, we could automate that.
But I have no idea how we'd be able to detect it.
Anybody have any ideas?
