Are you referring to outgoing ports on the firewall?

If so, yes and 587 should be "open" too. But if they weren't before,
corporate email wouldn't be going out either. But this is also different
from what is needed to receive emails as far as configuration goes.

I've never had to "open a port" on my firewall to send an email or make
client requests (ie, cURL, GETURI, etc).

But, to set up a web, SMTP, etc _SERVER_, yes, you need open ports to
direct and allow traffic in.

That's one contention I have with IBM's SMTP system.... you need an SMTP
"server" running to send email.

STRMSF and *SMTP server should be running and port 25 for SMTP and 465 for
