Awhile back a discussion was going where I was stating that I could not
possibly care less if a vendor supported some ancient version of the OS and
I was more concerned that they supported the latest version of the OS and
even participated in IBM's Early Programs.
One vendor took offense to this and stated something like it's not
important that they prove that their software worked on the new release.
They felt it was more necessary that I prove that it doesn't work as their
software works for all these releases and why would it just stop working.
The reason I am rehashing this is to present some actual vendor replies as
to why some stuff may stop working: (and the fixes for it)

You have to scroll down a bit to get to some itemized technical reasons.
That same vendor has similar messages for earlier releases (hint: change
the 75 in the url)
And work arounds from earlier releases, like changing a particular
environment variable, are only temporary and are not supported in the
latest release. The MTU for 7.5 also reiterates that this environment
variable is no longer a fix.
