Jack, correct me if I'm wrong but I believe the compare in VSCode only
works if the source is on the same box.

The OP mentioned "our As400 and the other is in the Customer's As400." so
I don't think you could compare the way you link was mentioning.

But let me know if you can compare on different boxes as I'm sure I would
make use of that.
