I don't know. I'm working mainly with stone age OS releases as a hobby. I'm just throwing in my general knowledge about protocols and networking in general.

I don't know the API, so I can't answer this question.

I suggest you just check the response in your program, and if it's a redirect, try again with the given URL from the response. It's valid to have redirected redirects. So maybe do this in a loop for, say, 8 times or so.
