Hi James,

Another method is using EDTF, option 6 (Path Size).

There is a difference in the reported size between du and EDTF.  du reports the number of 512-byte blocks allocated (or 1024-byte blocks if the -k flag is used), EDTF appears to report the number of bytes actually used.  To illustrate the difference, here's what's reported for my home directory on PUB400:

QSH CMD('du -sk /home/pdow')

120     /home/pdow

EDTF '/home'

Opt Name                 Size       Owner        Changed Used            CCSID or Symbolic Link
    PDOW                       95K  PDOW         05/24/23 21:21 11/15/24 18:41     SUBDIRECTORIES = 2, FILES = 1

I'm sure I've asked this before, and that I promptly forgot the answer.
Is there an easy way to determine how much space is used by the contents of an IFS directory?
Never mind. Apparently a *nix "du" command in a Qshell session will do it.
