I sort of agree. I've tried sending my newsletter as plain text vs html
and it was blocked as spam when it was HTML a lot more. But, the good
thing is most email clients these days can convert plain text to something
a little more readable (ie, html with different fonts than monospaced ones)
and add convert text hyperlinks to clickable ones.

But, it does have its place. Even now as I type this in the gmail web
client it's converted to HTML. :)
