The internal search function is temporarily non-functional. The current search engine is no longer viable and we are researching alternatives.
As a stop gap measure, we are using Google's custom search engine service.

First, I have heard nothing to even suggest that these things will be
removed in future releases. The announcement says that these products
will not be part of the catalog in releases after 7.5 - and there have
been statements about support - eventually you will be running
unsupported software.
You raise an interesting point - compile level - that is a function of
the compilers. You might be able to take SEU as an example - you can use
SEU to edit fully free-form RPG if you want, and you will see all kinds
of error indications, since SEU is sunsetted (or frozen, effectively) at
6.1 for RPG, for sure. Is it really wise to have to remember to type N
when exiting SEU in the field that says errors exist?
The only thing in SDA that you can't do in RDi is menus - so submit an
Idea, broadcast it here, get people to vote for it.
Or look at the Application Display Programming manual at
https://publibfp.dhe.ibm.com/epubs/pdf/c4157151.pdf - it has chapters on
creating *DSPF menus, *PGM menus, and *UIM menus - none of those options
require the SDA option for menus. In RDi, along with the iSphere
plugins, you can edit and create the DSPF and the MSGF that are used for
the first type. WRKMNU shows you which type of menu they are, option 8
for *DSPF tell you the DSPF and MSGF. I didn't see a way to retrieve
source for UIM - that'd be an interesting thing to ask for. Also,
perhaps, a UDA - UIM Design Aid. I mean, it appears every system menu is
*UIM type, I hope IBM have a design-aid for UIM, but I bet their
developers have to do that manually.

As with other Older, not included Lic Programs, specifically, will the
DFU and SDA programs work with future V7R6+ versions at the V7R5 level?
Will any upgrade automatically remove them or will they just not be
replaced?

Does anyone know of any vendor supplied solution for IBM i which will

IBM i 7.5 will be the last release that will deliver the following
functions from the IBM i portfolio:

Just trying to find out if I need any vendor issues resolved before that
comes out. Based on IBM i's 3 year cycle it's likely to be next spring.
