Art, since you said it, I also thought I'd heard that it was Leif. His magnum opus on MI is still available.

The PO box or address for FAST400 was in a shopping center across Hwy 52 from IBM's plant in Rochester, as I recall. I didn't find an address now, but I did find a thread, including Dan Bale, whom we see in these lists these days, with some emails from a Chance Taylor, presumable with Tiger Tools

In my browsing about I found a link to a CHAP (Computer History Archive Project) YouTube about maybe Rochester when it made the 400. I wonder if any of us know anyone in it.

I'm guessing those behind FAST400 where very high on the list.

Was Steve Glanstein one of them?

Nah - there were at least a couple of others ahead of Leif<grin>

This presentation is unsettling indeed.

After watching, I have checked the CALLs in my PGMs that run under
*OWNER
(not many)
and verified that the calls are qualified (some were not!).
IBM is now doing the same I guess...

And all regular users (Developers excluded) on our system have
LMTCPB (*YES)
Well, I guess that happens with systems and their admins being in a
safely walled garden over decades. And suddenly younger people come
and poke … and find out things. :-)

And because the internet is real and everything seems to be
mandatorily connected to the internet, the threats are real.

Somehow, I have to think about the brilliant work of Leif Svalgaard.
Presumably the first entry on Fortress Rochester's "wanted dead" list
back in the day. ;-)

:wq! PoC
