CICS stopped evolving on the IBM i at least 14 years ago. The cut that's there now is not up to date with CICS on z/OS, major evolutionary features absent.

Hello Vern,

So I simply wanted to say we can still use these products at our own risk if there are problems.

Well, I'm using a machine a quarter of a century old with an OS and tools almost the same age, with great success. Any questions? ;-) But then, I don't have a business being dependent on the functioning of this machine. Your mileage may vary. :-)

Taking into account that connections from and to this machine from and to the "outside world" work pretty well, I think, OS/400 has aged extremely well!

One might ask, when was the last time you heard of a support ticket for CICS - so these things can be extremely stable.

I'm pretty sure that there is no substantial change happening on the customer/programming side. Don't fix what ain't broken. :-)

:wq! PoC
