You missed an important line from the announcement:
Starting 1 October 2025, IBM will provide usage and known defect support
and will no longer provide new defect support for the following programs:
* IBM Backup, Recovery and Media Services for i (BRMS, 5770-BR1)
non-expiring LPP. Customers can get standard support with BRMS Subscription
Term offering.
