Hi Birgitta!
Yes, we discussed this at CEC24, nonetheless, I am looking for a B plan in
case a group of people for a group session won't be available soon.
Anyway, I will soon contact you privately.
Thank you
Lucia

easily attend it in English.
We already talked about this (2 weeks ago in Milan): I can offer classes
that cover everything about Db2 for i, SQL (on Db2 for i). I even can put
them together individually.
In Germany we offer "open" classes, i.e. for multiple attendees from
different companies, unfortunately in German. Sometimes it is not easy to
hold those advanced classes, because of the different basic knowhow of
attendees.could
That's why I prefer to hold those classes for companies (and in other
countries I do it only for Companies)
For a single person ordering an individual training is too expensive ...
but
if you could find at least 2 other who are interested, we can organize a
class (in person or remotely).
Please speak again with the Common guys Roberto, Pascal etc. if they
help to organize something.them
Coming to Italy would be no problem.
... unfortunately, from my experience, these advanced classes are not
booked
well.
No interest, to highsophisticated?! No idea.

Subject: Developer learning tools
Hi all,
It's been a while since I last posted a question, and it's not properly
technical this time.
I have been working hard to improve on my technical knowledge of a few
subjects, SQL and Code4i extension for local development to name a
and now to go on with my learning I need a couple of things that Ihaven't
been able to find yet.Because
Firstly, a reliable system to set up my environment and do my test.
of my consultancy work, I don't have a personal space as I usually workon
the Customer's system. PUB400 is a <<<great!>>> resource though it haswhen
limitations (of course given its public use!) and sometimes it's down
Iaccount
have spare time. RZHK, where PUB400 is hosted, offers a developer's
(meaning: a shared IBM i 7.4 or 7.5 environment with current PTF levels5GB
and
IBM software maintenance, the possibility to create your libraries, and
of storage) at a convenient fee (about 50 euros/month), anyway, I haveSQL
unsuccessfully tried for months to reach them.
Here comes my first question: do you know of any other cloud platform
providing such a kind of offer, again at a reasonable fee given that I am
doing it on my own?
Secondly, SQL advanced knowledge. I have found many companies offering
advanced courses whose syllabi include topics such as:and
- Identify the impact of Summary Tables, Materialized Query Tables,
temporary tablesespecially
- Use complex subqueries
- Use a greater number of scalar SQL functions
- Use advanced SQL constructs, such as recursive SQL and table
expressions
- Define User-Defined Distinct Types and User-Defined Functions
- Avoid several of the most common causes for poorly-performing SQL
All of those I found relate to DB2 environments, though specifically for
z/OS, Linux, UNIX, and Windows. None of them was for IBM i, and
when speaking of performance it can't be this way.can
Finally, my second question: do you know of any course of this kind? I
easily attend it in English.list
I have written a lot, I know, but I wanted to be clear about what I am
looking for.
Thank you very much for any hint or suggestion.
Meanwhile, I keep on learning from the online discussions.
Lucia
