Assuming the user is on a PC...
Take a look at Dameware Remote Control software. It does not use the RDP port and can be used securely by those with ADMIN credentials only.
We use it all the time to take control of user's PC's for a variety of issues.

Apologies, hit the wrong button.
Many of you probably have the same problem.
From time to time, a user will be in the middle of entering something like an order when they get distracted, walk away or go home and leave the session at that point, locking one or more records and objects.
Right now all I can do is end the job. That is not a clean way to do so and creates other problems.
Way back in the system/38 or early AS/400 days, a vendor provided a function to take over or log into an active session and allow you to gracefully exit the program.
Does anyone know how this can be achieved today?
