I am dong and I have some question ask you.
I have power 8 with powerVM standard edition.
I am creating new partition for IBM i using vHMC and then
I am installing licensed internal code on that new partition.
I used partition template for IBM i without virtualization(because I don't have VIOS CD).
I am connecting vHMC PC to system using crossover cable. And I connected Other PC to ethernet adpater port of the system using normal network cable through switch.
And then I try to connect console screen with IBM i Access Solution Program. But I can't connect to it. Why is it so? Because I used HMC and then I tried to connect to console screen using Operations Console Program through LAN?
If I used HMC, then I can't connect to 5250 console screen using Operations Console? So I used Tagged IO to select Ethernet Adapter of the system to use as 'console', not 'Opearations Console'.
But Operations Console Program can't 'locate Console'. If you want, I can send screen capture.
