That is the minimum it insists on. If I use quick fix then that is what it
does. I code it the way you do and it has no issues with that - it is just
what the linter sets as a minimum.

I think it was my logic professor in college that drilled into me "you

can

never have too many parens" haha.. which of course didn't apply when I
started programming with RPG.. until RPGIV and now free format.
