I clear the files in /tmp every night.
There are several applications that leave debug data in there.

I have an RPG program that reads the contents of a directory and deletes the files based on date created. I use this to clean up log files in other directories.
I was using a QSH command to do so, but it would fail if the directory contained a lot of files.

I think this was recently discussed.

Subject: [EXTERNAL] Who clears /tmp regularly

I was trying to provide some files to IBM on a machine we don't regularly look after.

The files were in /tmp

There were over 1 million files in /tmp and it seems you can only enter a filter after the list has been built.

Just curious if you regularly clear this directory or if you have tools to regularly clean up old files or some other approach ?

Cheers

Don
