Thanks for the kind words, Michael.

10 grand? Wow! That's a lot more than $500. ;)

We upgraded from V7R3 to V7R4 and also from 1 Power 8 to 2 Power 10's this

REALLY OLD software was imbedded in our code that took spooled files,
converted them
to PDF's and emailed those to our user community.

I honestly can't recall what that old software was but we were able to
contact a vendor
that owned that software. That firm wanted over $10K to try and build us
updated license keys.

So what to do? I recommended calling BVS and Brad to get some info on his
MAILTOOL
software. We ended up purchasing MAILTOOL. Our developers easily
incorporated it into
our code. It's reasonably priced, support is outstanding. We haven't had
any issues with it.

I can't give it a higher endorsement than that!

If you're open to a different 3rd party application our SPLTOOL and
MAILTOOL software will convert and email SCS and AFPDS spooled files as PDF
and allow you totally bypass the IBM SMTP server/Notes/etc. There are even
options for OAuth 2.0 authentication when things inevitably go that way.

This is especially useful when you are using Office 365, GMail, or another
cloud based solution.

Free trial keys are available using the Quick Key feature at
http://www.bvstools.com/.

What I want to do is this:

* Generate PDF versions of certain printouts
* Use a program to email this to specified customers

I plan to use a package ?GUMBO spoolmail? handle the mailing.

The problem is that on the same machine (no separate partitions) the
client is running NOTES-DOMINO email server and that for whatever
reason the SMTP serverr does not accept calls from the OS side.

I have been told that there is some way to make the SMTP server work
for both purposes but I have not found any information to work on.

All ideas are most welcome!
