I get where you're coming from James. I wonder if those using GIT and
other such tools eschew source line dates and rely upon items from those
tools instead?

Sounds like a big mistake to me.
I've lost count of the number of times, when working with source *not*
stored in members of a source PF, when I've *wished* the lines were
individually datestamped.
