Hi Ken
Yeah, not playing anymore, was still touring in the 20-teens.
This was supposed to be a private email - mea culpa for sending to the group - any other replies I'll try to answer privately (apologies, David!)
Cheers
Vern

"Someone you know?" :) Anyone I know?
Trouble with community version is can't use it in commercial enterprise, so far as I read. Koen Decorte, in Belgium, uses it a lot for reporting, he's done some amazing things on the i.
BTW, I've been taking jazz piano lessons from a local world-class pianist - check her out at marylouiseknutson.com<
http://marylouiseknutson.com> - she toured with Doc Severinsen for 8 years or so. Reason for lessons is I'm playing keyboard with the Zuhrah Shrine Flames Big Band - too much fun, man!
Best regards

Sal and his group have been around a long time with m-Power.
It's probably worth a look because you can do more than just reports. You can also create dashboards and data entry apps if I recall correctly.
Another Tibco option if you want something FREE is to look at Jasper Report Server. They own that toolset now as well but there is still a Community version.
Someone I know tried to spark a commercial relationship with them on behalf of one of their customers a few years back, but they didn't seem interested.
Pete Helgren did an RPG wrapper around Jasper several years back.

I watched the video on m-power. Looks really nice... have you tried it out? Do you have any idea on the cost?
This looks similar to CNX Valence.
I reached out to Tibco about continuing a relationship with them... this was the response:
"We are currently working on various options to onboard IBM clients and resellers. It may take us a few more weeks to come up with a plan."
Sure would be nice to know what they're planning before we jump to another software.

As we continue our search to migrate away from DB2 Webquery have come across a few different systems. I was curious if anyone has used the m-Power reporting and toolset from MRC? One thing that I liked was that it isn't just a reporting tool and was wondering about getting a bit more bang for my buck with this system.
Thanks,
Ken Meade
