SQL Trim around should be enough.
SELECT CAST(PATH_NAME AS
VARCHAR(500)) AS PATH_NAME, OBJECT_TYPE,CREATE_TIMESTAMP FROM TABLE(QSYS2.IFS_OBJECT_STATISTICS(TRIM(:directory) ,'YES'))
Or you define your variable as Varchar and %Trim() off the Blanks before.
